This month's winning photo is a fascinating glimpse of life in the little-known country of Mauritania in north-west Africa. Taken by Paul O'Sullivan in the city of Chinguetti, it shows a compellingly unfamiliar urban landscape. As the traditionally-garbed man makes his way to pray, the azure blue of his robe contrasts strikingly with Chinguetti's Martian-red soil and buildings. Paul's shot may be a window on a very different way of life but it does also show one of life's fundamental truths - the world is divided into those who are on time and those who aren't.
Paul's image will be blown up and scanned onto a canvas block by Point 101.
