Yurt in Cuzco

Hotel Los Ninos, Cuzco
Posted by JessBoydell
A small number of simple, homely rooms surround a beautiful courtyard in which weary travellers escape from the bustle of Cuzco.

The hostel is impeccably run by the most friendly and welcoming staff who are ready to rustle you up delicious pancakes and coffee.

The Dutch owner set up the B&B as a fundraising venture for the vast amount of street children she now helps. Staff are also on hand to offer hints and tips. Tours of the children’s centre are also recommended to offer you the alternative view of a city which is so dominated by tourism.

Mansion San Antonio, Lima

I can highly recommend the Mansion San Antonio bed and breakfast in Lima, Peru. The property is located on a very quiet residential street in the Miraflores area of Lima. While some areas of Lima are reported to be unsafe, Miraflores is situated in one of the more upscale neighborhoods and I felt comfortable walking to bars and restaurants at night (about 10 minutes walk).

Many good restaurants and some of the larger well known hotels are nearby. Even though the San Antonio is on a quiet street, you need to only walk about 1 minute to a reach a busy intersection where it was very easy to find a taxi.
The large room I had was spotless. TV, DVD, room service available. And a full size bar of soap in the bathroom! Maybe that's a small detail but as a frequent traveller who's used to the matchbox size sliver you usually find,it was appreciated.

The best part was the friendly and helpful staff. Always available to assist and answer questions, not only about the property but about anything a tourist would need to know about Lima. I especially remember the manager, Jean Carlo, whose helpful advice and attention to detail was more in line with what you'd expect from a concierge in a 5 star hotel.

I'll definitely be returning!

Casablanca Hostel, Arequipa

Probably the best place I have stayed in in Peru. The rooms are clean, simple and extremely stylish. There is a roof terrace for catching some rays after a hard days sightseeing.

The Way Inn, Huarez
Posted by ChinleyMan

An adobe-style hostel built up in the hills above Huaraz by an English couple, Alex & Bruni. Amazing spot with fantastic views as well as home comforts like orthopaedic mattresses and home grown English-style pub food. They have a hostel in Huaraz too, but take the opportunity to visit their lodge in the mountains.

Mochicas B&B, Tujillo
Posted by AliD
A small family-run place on the outskirts of Trujillo. There are always taxis around so it is not a problem to be out of town. The family are lovely and will help you in any way they can. There is a big supermarket nearby and you can have use of the kitchen.

Colca Lodge, Chivay

A fantastic hotel - bungalows set around the central buildings in the upper Colca Valley - great for walks. Peaceful and tranquil, the food and ambience were five-star. Have a thermal bath in their own pools whilst looking up at the stars and sipping a Pisco Sour!
