Your photos bring the places on this site to life. If you've returned from a trip with some stunning snaps that would be wasted in an album at home, send them to us to publish and share your memories with other travellers.

How to send a photo
Read our guidelines, then email your favourite image as a jpeg attachment to been.there.photos@guardian.co.uk

**Note: the monthly photo competition for May has a 'New York' theme. You can submit photos of other places if you wish, but these will be held over and entered into June's competition. The winner of the May competition will be selected from the New York images we receive**

Type the name of the place where the photo was taken in the subject header and include your name and a clear description of the subject matter.
Images must be a minimum of 630 pixels wide for landscape shots and 500 pixels tall for portraits.

Photography competition
Been there has teamed up with Point 101 to offer one user each month the chance to see their photograph blown up and scanned on to a canvas block worth £200. Each photo you send will automatically be entered into our monthly competition.
