    Hotel Babel

Posted by Clareman 21 April 2010

This lovely boutique hotel situated in the heart of San Telmo is something special. My wife and I spent the first three days of a marvellous four-week holiday in Argentina in this hotel and it certainly set the standard for the rest of the holiday.

I cannot overstate how helpful all of the staff were. The rooms, located around a central courtyard, are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfasts are simple but healthy and tasty.

The location may at first seem a little off-putting, but don't be. It's a great area and, as far as we are concerned, very safe. Lots of very good restaurants nearby - let the hotel staff advise you. And if you're lucky, when you are leaving they may even give you a copy of their CD featuring a mix of jazz and tango style music.

    Kapake Palermo Hostel

Posted by Sissi 4 February 2009

You may enter this hostel in Buenos Aires thinking you have just stepped into one of the city’s fancy hotels. Neutral colors, comfy sofas and a fireplace make up the fantastic lounge area and the staff are fantastic. Located in downtown Buenos Aires, close to popular bars, eateries and attractions, this hostel offers a clean, safe environment in which to stay. With a range of spacious dorms, sharing between 4 and 6 people, the modest prices also include free breakfast, towels and bed linen, while other fantastic facilities include Wi-Fi internet, kitchen and currency exchange.

    Costa Petit Hotel

    Posted by rpm46 29 September 2007

This is simply the best hotel in Buenos Aires! The location is awesome, the staff are out of this world and above all, the decor is out of this world. Book ahead as they tend to get full way in advance (they have only 4 rooms). Your stay here is guaranteed to make you feel wonderful, I cannot wait to go back!

    Urbanica Suites Apart Hotel

    Posted by mary2k 30 May 2007

I got in touch with this hotel through their website, and I made a reservation. They answered that they were under construction, and the lobby and cafe were still undone. So they offered me a great deal to stay with them.
What can I say? The service was excellent! Since we were 4 guests in the whole hotel, we had an extremely personalised service. They were very nice to us. The manager herself took our breakfast every day to our room.
The hotel is gonna be great when they open it, because the concept is the design. The rooms are big and the decoration is very nice.
But the best thing is the attention.
Thanks to all the staff of Urbanica Suites for providing us with the best holiday in Buenos Aires!

It's in Montañeses 2585, Buenos Aires.
In a very nice neigbourhood, called Belgrano. Nearby you have a great shopping area! But the area is in general quiet and very classy.

    Bobo Hotel

Posted by mitzyli 3 May 2007

Contemporary boutique hotel in the heart of the best neighborhood in BA - it's surrounded by shops and outdoor restaurants. Only seven rooms, each decorated in a different style: I stayed in the "modernism" room, which included a beautiful balcony. The staff are extremely courteous and hospitable. The nightly rate was only $135. For a complete description, with pictures, go to www.travelmusings.net

    Home Hotel Buenos Aires

Posted by mitzyli 3 May 2007

Home Hotel is a contemporary boutique hotel located in Palermo - the best neighborhood in BA, in my opinion. It's very hip but not over-the-top. Lots of white, outdoor bar by the pool, designer furniture, design magazines scattered about, etc. The rates are reasonable as well: approximately $135-$150 per night. Lots of restaurants nearby.

    Malabia House

Posted by BAWonderer 27 December 2005

I've visited BA six times, and this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. It's made up of two "sausage houses" which have been refurbished, to provide a friendly, calming ambience - ideal afer an exhausting day of looking around the city. Nice "homely" breakfasts too. The bars, restaurants and parks of Palermo are moments away; the subte (subway) or a bus will get you into the city centre.

    Gran Hotel Hispano

Posted by terryg 18 December 2005

Simple, clean, friendly and obliging hotel. It’s central, just along from the Casa Rosada. Doubles are around £17 a night including breakfast, although that should be taken next door at the fantastic Café Tortoni.

    Hotel Phoenix

A delightful old-style hotel in the heart of the city. Try to get a room overlooking the internal courtyard as the street side is noisy. An ancient wooden lift with great ironmongery takes you slowly to your floor.

    Kitsch love motels

Posted by ColvilleAndersen 5 November 2005

It's a sexy town, Buenos Aires. And here's a tip to help you prove it. The city's many love motels, or 'telos' offer rooms by the hour, catering to all those in need of a hassle-free and quick place to get busy. Whether it's for an affair or just overly-affectionate couples hitting the nightlife.

Try the überkitsch Jardines de Babilonia's theme rooms (The Emperor's Enclave or the Temple of Ishtar, among others). Generally, just look for the red lights and the phrase 'albergue transitorio'.

    Alvear Palace

Posted by UkiGoni 10 August 2005

Probably the city's most luxurious hotel, the five-star Alvear's French-style architecture, thick carpets and courteous service reek of old-world splendour, as do the prices which begin at $410 for a double room.
