Argentina
I recently stumbled upon this great wine store run by English sommelier Nigel Tollerman, at one of his regular semi-public tastings, a really fun and social event. They sell over 400 premium and super-premium Argentine wines (the best wines that are almost all exported and nobody else in this town seems to be able to get hold of, he managed to get me some Chacra Pinot Noir from Patagonia and some San Pedro de Yacochuya from Salta, two of my favourites), and he delivers (often within the hour) anywhere in Buenos Aires at no extra charge, with snazzy presentation and friendly service. They also do private tastings in their cellar, and Nigel is a fountain of knowledge.

I contacted this expatriate Tim Robertson to organise some tastings of Argentine wines while in Buenos Aires.
They have seriously knowledgeable tour guides for sightseeing and the three tastings they arranged for me at different venues were superb. Great service, totally reliable and extremely knowledgeable. I cannot recommend their service enough!
When I went to BA on business for six weeks, my heart sank at the thought of all the bad "sorry did you say you don't eat meat" so-called dinners I'd be enduring. How wrong I was - in BA (admittedly eating in good restaurants, sure it's different beyond the city) I ate superbly almost every night. Yes, my companions were tucking into the most ridiculous slabs of beef at the same time, but I'm used to that.
My favourite two places were Sucre and Miranda, the first a pretty hip restaurant, the second more informal. Always washed down with an amazing glass of malbec.

It's all about the best wine in Buenos Aires you can find, but what stuck out more in my mind was the great wonderful service you get at La Botica del Vino.
It's like taking a big variety-type wine emporium blended with the attention you would get from a family store. You can't beat it, ask for Hernan. Argentina´s red wine is world class, but the prices still aren't.
