A day without wine is like a day without sunshine, or so the saying goes. While Been there would never endorse binge drinking, we're certainly partial to the odd glass of something fizzy, fruity, sweet or dry. Plus, we're a travel site and wine tourism has certainly caught on in a way that beer never has. So uncork, sit back and send us your wine tips - where to buy it, where to see it made and, of course, where to drink it.

    Colomé vineyard and hotel

Posted by Chasdapper 1 June 2009

Colome is a Swiss-German run vineyard in the pituresque mountainside around Salta.

It boasts Argentina's oldest - and the world's highest altitude - winery anywhere in the world.

The charming guides expertly mix science with traditional wine making values.

The Malbecs are some of the best I've ever tasted and the organic produce served in the hotel restaurant is of the finest quality.

The company has even built a nearby village for housing key workers complete with school, church and medical centre.

Definitely recommended for all wine lovers.
