Argentina
This hostel felt like staying at home! It is run by Miriam, Lucas and Hector, a lovely Argentine family that treat you like you are part of their family. The hostel is charming and clean, and the staff helped book excursions and make the best of my time in Ushuaia. The breakfast is better than most hostels - including Argentine medialunas, or croissants.

After traveling all over South America, I finally got down to the southernmost city in the world and found the best hostel yet on the continent. I was met by friendly staff at this spiffy clean hostel which has stunning views of the Beagle Channel and the mountains surrounding Ushuaia. The staff helped me get to the National Park immediately upon arrival and even paired me up with other solo travelers for the day's hiking! The hostel fosters a real bond among travelers, from making meals together in the kitchen to venturing out to explore nearby bars. The staff are knowledgeable about the city and surrounding areas and love to help travelers plan their days. I had a great stay, and I'd recommend this hostel to anyone.

We thought that the hostel itself was pretty good. We had a private room with ensuite bathroom and both were clean and spacious. The noise however was something else. The room we had overlooked the main drag, which seems to be the centre of the town's entertainment each evening as cars cruise the street with music blaring and engines revving. Sounds a bit tame when I write it here but really, words cannot describe it. On top of this, noise from the reception area of the hostel and the music from the shop below the room was overwhelming. Having said all of that, if you have no problems at all with noise then this is the place for you. It's cheap, central, good atmosphere and rooms, along with a communal kitchen/eating area. The staff were really helpful and the price was great.
