One of the best places in Rio de Janeiro, located in historical Lapa district, in an old renovated house. Great music and relaxing atmosphere. The interior of club is full of antiques and old cars. And there is an old dentist's chair by the entrance, just in case you get tootache.
This is not only nightclub where you can listen music, dance eat or drink, it is a musem with spacious venue of three floors.

I went with some friends to Zero Zero lounge next to Rio’s planetarium. I thought it was a bit expensive when compared to other clubs I had been to, but the ambience was pretty hipster and sophisticated. They have a huge open-air lounge area with many couches, Indian wooden benches and the ambiance is candlelit, the décor surely adds a sexy, romantic feel to the place. The gorgeous trendy locals cruise around in fashion clothes and fancy drinks. This place is definitely worth a check.
In case you want to make new friends or you’re travelling all by yourself, this is the place to go! The cool thing is that Clandestino is open until late hours. The crowd is young and friendly and each night has a different feel to it. I loved the nachos I ordered and they have a bunch of beer brands for you to pick and choose. The dancefloor was packed and I had such a wild night with the Brazilian guys I met and the Italian friend who was staying in my hostel.

My favorite sport is beer tasting! I’ve been to many places and one of my fondest rituals is trying out beers and keeping the labels. I’ve been to Brazil before, but this was the first time that I tried prime quality draft beer. A local newly-met friend took me to this bar called Devassa in Flamengo. They have a homemade brand of beer! It’s so tasty and rich! Plus the fact that they are really careful with their logo and design. I loved it. If you get the chance try all three of them! I loved the Indian one.

Club 69 is a breakthrough nightclub. The sound system and the lights there are a reference and ispiration for every other (good) nightclub in Brazil. Once you get in there you feel like you're not on earth. It’s, basically, a black box with lights on the walls and ceiling - red, green, yellow, purple, orange, blue. It’s surely a designer club! Plus the fact the the place is packed with b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l Brazilians. My recommendation is: swallow down a couple of shots, get a real fancy drink and cruise. The place is great for meeting locals!

A cozy wooden haven for the true beer enthusiasts! A Brazilian friend told me that the beer at Devassa was simply the best. Apparently they have their own home-made brand of beer (Blonde, Ale, Indian) I tasted them all, and could not put them aside. Devassa is located at the heart of Ipanema, close to other great spots for shopping or chilling. The place was packed with people living out the true carioca lifestyle. A place to have fun after going to the beach. Don't count with parking spots, you won't find it, but other than that, it's a great experience!

Lapa 40 Graus is a traditional samba house located right on samba’s birthplace, the Lapa neighborhood. Needless to say, it’s a must-try for everyone who wants to have a piece of the real samba experience. They have several dancefloors, with different bands playing, so even if you’re not into samba, you’ll definitely find something for you. I recommend it!

Palaphita is a very pleasant restaurant with a splendid view of Lagoa (a big lagoon in the middle of the city). I suggest you go around dusk, for the view of the sun setting behing the hills is simply breathtaking!

After days and days of clubbin’ with my friends in small, noisy and smoky (up to the point that it got me feeling – and smelling – like an ashtray at the end of the night) clubs, it was with great relief and joy that I stumbled upon Zero Zero, this sophisticated and trendy club in Gavea neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. They have this huge open-air lounge area with lots of couches and benches and there are candlelights all around, that add a sexy, romantic vibe to it. It’s great for those moments when you want to chill, take some time-out from partying and just want to chat and have a drink. The music is great too, and so is the crowd. Lots of good-looking people. I recommend it!

Don't miss a night in this lively bar. Rio Scenarium is a fabulous place for a night out in Rio where you can get a bite to eat, have some drinks and dance. It's a hit with the locals who seem to use it as a meeting place. Book if you want a table. Don't go too early, go after 10pm when the atmosphere is more lively.

A friend and I had an amazing time in this bar. Excellent music and full of young and beautiful people from all over the world. Rio de Janeiro is the best city ever – I loved it!

Devassa Ipanema has a great atmosphere, and the beers are great too. I tried all of them: Loira, Ruiva, Negra and Índia. They have a snack called escondidino - very tasty!

Lounge 69 is a nightclub appreciated by those who like to listen a good music and see beautiful and young people.
When I went there, they played electronic music. I'd recommend you ask for one of their good drinks and to wear comfortable sandals and clothes, because you will probably dance all night!

00 is a very famous bar, nightclub and restaurant in Rio.
I liked to go there because I ate great food and then danced with my friends all night! There are so many beautiful people there! Especially the girls.

Barril 1800 is almost an institution in Rio de Janeiro. Because of its localization, in the front of Ipanema beach, or maybe because it's been there for decades receiving everybody with great food and beer and lots of courtesy.
People go there straight from the beach, creating a casual environment. They serve traditional Brazilian dishes in huge amounts of food for great prices. And, last but not least, the sight of Ipanema beach is breathtaking. Don't miss it!

Don't know how these guys do it, but they brew their beer to absolute perfection!
I saw a bunch of these pubs spread all over town when I was down in Brazil, and they all seemed to have a pretty faithful clientele.
We ended up hitting the Ipanema spot most the time, and two of those times we closed the place down! That good!

Rio de Janeiro is very famous for its bar culture. The words 'botequim' or 'boteco' designate small places with freezing beer, lots of people, bad food and very low prices. The genre of place became so strong that a new style of 'boteco' was created, it keeps the popular aura combined with a tiny sophistication. Devassa Bar in Leblon is an exemplar of the hip but cozy boteco, full of young and interesting people, Devassa has its own beer, in different versions: blond, red, black and Indian. I had the blond and found it very special. The menu is another chapter: many yummy finger foods, typical of Brazil. Go feel yourself a real carioca!

Hideaway is a pizzaria and lounge in Laranjeiras, Rio de Janeiro. The place successfully combines a nice thin and crispy pizza with a big and modern place, full of young and beautiful people.
They also have shows (pop, Brazilian, jazz music) and a dance floor that mixes many styles of music. A complete night!
