    Zero Zero (00)

Posted by deirdrenoseck 4 December 2007

This place is awesome, and so is the food. This was one of our first dinner stops and we still have fond memories of it.

But the cuisine is just the first chapter of the house, the other side of the thing is a great night! The cool and trendy DJs spin the latest e-music hits, while a crowd of young and beautiful people makes things even more interesting. Should you come down to Rio, give it a try. Zero Zero is located in Gávea, near the Planetarium.

    Ipanema & Bofetada

Posted by antonbyrne 7 March 2007

After a hard day swimming, drinking caipirinhas and watching the beautiful people, come off the gay area of Ipanema beach and head directly up Farme de Amoeda to the Bofetada.

This is a little historic bar that's great for people watching and enjoying an ice cold beer. No need to dress up. Just turn up in your trunks like the local boys do!

    AVOID DAMA DE FERRO

It's a late dance bar and has an interesting interior, design-wise. However, the night we went there the music was crap and the clientele consisted of 6 of the DJ's mates, a straight couple and us.

Left almost immediately yet despite this they still demanded a 20 Real cover charge each and got all aggressive when we contested it. Rio is a great city and there are plenty of places more deserving of custom.
