Anybody that says Whistler is expensive should check out Allura Direct vacation rentals. We have booked two holidays through their website, each time choosing a condo that suits our needs of wanting something bigger and better than a hotel room.
It is a lot cheaper than booking through a UK travel agent, and we save ourselves at least £1000 each time we go. You pay for the condo and not the number of people staying, so there’s no single supplement for only having two people in a four person condo.
An excellent, clean, boutique-style, good value place to stay. The hotel is located right at the bottom of the lifts up Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains and has the Dub Linn Gate pub adjacent to the main lobby. All in all it is a great place to stay. We had so much fun.

The studios and suites are incredibly light, spacious, and have a modern design and feel. All rooms have a decent sized kitchen. A daily complimentary deluxe breakfast is included as well as an appetiser buffet in the evening. There is a pool, two hot tubs, spa treatment rooms, and a very trendy lounge exclusively for guests.

A newly renovated midrange hotel that offers affordable self-catering studio and studio loft units. The hotel is located right in the busy heart of the village and just a short walk to the Whistler Mountain Base. The staff are friendly and there is a swimming pool, hot tub and a sauna. It is ideal if you want to be in the centre of the action. Right next door you will find the Ristorante Araxi, one of the best top of the range restaurants in Whistler.

A comfortable and well appointed hotel right on the edge of town. There’s a
decent sized covered swimming pool and hot tub on the ground floor, and the staff are very helpful. It’s a short walk to the ski lifts, and the Crabshack bar/restaurant is right across the driveway.

We stayed at Riverside campground last year. It's a little further out from the town centre, though the walk is pleasant if there isn't too much snow. There are also shuttle buses to and fro in the morning and evening. The best bit about it is the privacy: you can park your RV there or do as we did and stay in a dinky log cabin. These are very cosy and provide a little mountain ambience! They also come equipped with cooking facilities, so you are free from the restrictions of a hotel, and can eat cheaply in the evenings (there's a good supermarket in town).

Very little in Whistler is cheap. Shoestring Lodge is the exception. This aptly named hostel provides comfortable accommodation in four-bed dorms and private rooms, each with TV and bathroom, for a fraction of the price of a hotel. There's a free bus for the short trip to the lifts every morning and local buses stop just outside. Bars and restaurants are within walking distance if the pub/part-time strip joint attached to the hostel doesn't appeal.
