Often seen as Buenos Aires' less glamorous twin, Santiago is a city that rewards the unsuspecting visitor. Perched between the coast and the Andes, which on a clear day are starkly visible against the city's skyline, Santiago is a city which comprises one third of Chile's population, where the typical Latin American sights of extreme wealth and extreme poverty bump along side-by-side.
