For a City Break in Prague

Posted by mattya 15 November 2007

In recent years I've had 4-5 city breaks a year rather than two weeks on a beach.

I prefer to spend as little as possible on flights and then put what I saved towards a good hotel (I normally go for something that's very central).

directline-citybreaks.co.uk let me search for a hotel priced with either an easyjet or ryanair flight. I got £50 off for booking online (not too sure if they're still doing this). I've not found any other site that does this.

    Prague Apartments

Stayed in a nice flat just 100 metres off the Old Town square. This website offers a number of centrally located rentals and I highly recommend it for anybody who wants a bit more of a bargain than the high priced Prague hotels have to offer!

    Prague Beer Tours

Posted by Traveliana 20 April 2007

Here's an interesting note about eating healthily in Prague, where to get five servings of fruit and vegetables per day, you might end up eating strawberry dumplings. If you need exercise and fruit, walking around for hours can replace visits to the gym.

I found a good site on Czech healthy lifestyle at www.traveliana.com/prague-old-town-pubs-tour.html.

Note you will need a Flash plugin to load the video - see links below.

    Prague 360° Virtual Tours

Posted by Traveliana 19 April 2007

As everybody around mostly agrees that Prague is beautiful, here goes a real amazing teaser on what you can expect.

    Go to:
    www.traveliana.com/prague-virtual-tours-walks.html

This virtual tour is so amazingly clear especially if you go fullscreen. Just a tip, once the video is done loading, to view this across the full screen look for the arrow in the lower left corner. It looks like a play button on a tape player. Click the arrow and it will open the menu controls and go fullscreen.

Our favorite is Bridge Tower Panorama - look below you in fullscreen mode! Surprised? How did they do it?

    Cizi.cz

Posted by Expats 12 February 2006

Cizi.cz is a Prague and Czech community forum board run by a Englishman who does not censor the website so you get to know the real facts on Prague, as opposed to the other expat sites in the Czech Republic, which delete all manner of comments for one reason or another.

I would recommend this site to both expats residing in Prague and also to visitors looking to get a bit of "inside knowledge" on the best hideaways for a good meal/night out without paying the tourist prices and having to endure the rowdy stag parties that frequent Prague.

If you want Prague/Czech information then this is the site to get it, with an eyeful of humour from its members to boot.

    Prague Life

I have found this travel guide more useful than most, specifically the general pages rather than the listings, which could do with some extending.
