Dominica is a rainforest island and in December it rains roughly once an hour but when this happens the air turns golden. Clouds and mist wander continually across the valleys creating vivid rainbows, sometimes 2 or 3 overlapping in which every colour of the spectrum is visible. The view of the everchanging weather was even more spectacular from the sea, small squalls sometimes completely obscuring the tiny island, only for it to reappear 5 minutes later bathed in sunlight and rainbows.
