After disembarking the plane and BEFORE you go through customs, go to one of the banking kiosks ON THE WAY to passport check. Nobody tells you this, but you obviously need to pay for the visa before they check your passport for said visa!

Send them to stay with auntie in Margate. There’s very little to keep them occupied in Cairo, at least until they reach the mid teens.
