I stayed in Meribel with these guys and had an awesome time. Everyone was just desperate to get out on the mountain and there’s nothing like crowd-surfing at Ronnie’s in the afternoon! Food was hitting the spot after some pretty incredible days of powder (OK, in my case more like a hard day of pretending to know what the heck am I doing on skis...)
Very disorganised, catered chalets. Poor food, phone bills and internet disconnected for 1/3 of the season, heating and hot water not available twice throughout season with no alternative offered.
Not ATOL or ABTA registered (be warned).
I am a 28-year-old female who has been forced to live in somewhere worse than a male university digs (and that's truly saying something! When doing a season, go self-catered (as Nielsons, Crystals, Thomson unfortunately do not do seasonal accommodation).
Complete information guide to Meribel online, with live webcams, up-to-date news, snow reports, weather, and full listings of where to stay, what to do and loads more.
Great place for post-skiing drinks.
Rastros also serves traditional food, with good fondues and raclette, until about 10.30pm. Has famous Tuesday night Rock Parties with 70s music and dancing on the tables.
In the Chatelet area of Méribel-Mottaret (just past the Plattieres lift station)
