A heady mix of attractions
This is a charming town near Nuremberg with a largely intact old town centre in Baroque and Romanesque style, designated a world heritage site by UNESCO. Discover picturesque canals, narrow alleys and hidden squares, and relax on the canal banks in one of many beer gardens or restaurant terraces. The large university population means there is a vibrant nightlife, and local Franconian specialties - mainly beer and sausages, but also the asparagus and wine are worth trying.
