    Andel's Hotel Sky Bar

Posted by davidwitt 17 February 2013

On the 14th floor of a recently built hotel, you can drink and eat, and gaze at two thirds of Berlin. Favoured seats are along the west facing windows for sunset. Stunning!

    Michelberger Hotel

Posted by amnadillo 19 August 2010

This is a great, good value hotel in the old 'East' side of Berlin. It is a short walk from the upcoming Friedrichshain neighbourhood, cafe society Kreuzberg and a U-Bahn away from the major sites in Mitte.

The staff are on hand to give practical advice at all hours and are friendly. The 'cosy' rooms are just that and may not suit some people - the best rooms are the larger doubles overlooking the courtyard. The best bit is surely the decor and comfort of the reception area which has lounge sofas, books and coffees to help overcome the inevitable hangovers.

    Hotel Otto

Posted by eurotripperbath 7 July 2009

This hotel is a real find, tucked away in the leafy suburb of Charlottenburg. It is 10 minutes walk from Savignyplatz station with its direct link to Schoenfeld airport. The room was large, very comfortable, clean and had a useful folder with loads of information about the hotel, the area and Berlin itself. The staff were courteous and friendly, the breakfast immense (it will keep you going til mid afternoon just in time for kaffe und kuchen!) and it was quiet. I think there is a suite of rooms which would be ideal for a family or a group of friends. I really recommend it.

    Circus Hotel

Posted by Heatheronhertravels 3 May 2009

This is a great, well-priced hotel offering a modern boutique look, young and friendly staff and lots of thoughtful little touches, like the loan of i-pods charged with Berlin music. Not to be confused with it's sister the Circus Hostel, just across the road, although it's run by the same team.

The Fabisch restaurant serves modern German cooking with locally sourced ingredients, has comfy leather chairs and a great bar area - we enjoyed the cocktails. Breakfast was included and was excellent - a choice of continental croissants, healthy cereals or Berlin style with cold meats and cheese.

We booked a 2 bedroom apartment which had an up-market Ikea look, well equiped kitchen and two shower rooms, overlooking the inner courtyard. We also had a twin room which was stylish and contemporary with modern shower room.

There was wifi throughout and the staff were exceptionally helpful when I asked for restaurant recommendations and advice.

It's in the central trendy neighbourhood of Mitte, with plenty of restaurants and nightlife nearby, train station right outside and a 15 min walk to Hackesche Höfe, Alexanderplatz and Museum Island.

Definitely a great choice if you're after a boutique hotel on a budget.

    Propeller Island City Lodge

Posted by mitzyli 17 November 2008

I'd recommend this place because I enjoy unique hotels. The owner of the hotel, an artist, designed/decorated each room differently and some are downright bizarre: the room with the coffins, padded cell, mirror room, Grandma's, Symbol Room. I enjoyed my tranquil Temple room.

The hotel is located in just off of Ku'damm in Charlottenburg.

    Hotel Q

Boutique design hotel off the Ku'damm. Unfortunately we cancelled our romantic break there a month in advance in accordance with all published conditions and have been billed anyway. The staff cite cancellation requirements that are not published anywhere or mentioned in the confirmation email and refuse to show any flexibility.

    Hotel Hansablick

Posted by mollymalone 4 April 2008

Stylish but moderately priced hotel situated in quiet location near the western fringe of the Tiergarten. For Euro 110 per night we had a huge and very comfortable double room with a view of the River Spree. Breakfast (included in price) is superb. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is someone on duty 24 hours a day. The hotel is small enough to feel personal, and full of interesting modern works of art by various local artists. 3 minutes walk from S-bahn; 10 mins from Zoo Station.

    Arcotel Velvet

Posted by hmpennell 4 February 2007

Stylish hotel, excellently located in Mitte, within walking distance of many of the key sights; alternatively, seconds from tram, U and S-bahn. Room design is trendy, with huge floor-ceiling windows. Amazing price-quality correlation. Hotel's cocktail lounge has extensive range of drinks. Breakfast not cheap (15EUR per person) but great selection, including delicious crispy bacon.

    The Q hotel

    Posted by adav11 26 September 2005

If you like modern design you will love this hotel. It is considered an architectural masterpiece and certainly a change of pace from the run-of-the-mill lodgings that most cities offer. It feels more like a flat than a hotel room and the staff are wonderful.
