    Yellow Sunshine

Posted by AndreaJane 1 March 2011

Even my carnivorous boyfriend said eating at Berlin's vegan and vegetarian diner, Yellow Sunshine, was one of the best meals we had in the city. The menu is extensive and has many veggie burger varieties such as cheese and 'bacon' (the veggie kind!) and Mexican (the tasty one I tried, which comes with crunchy nachos and spicy peanut sauce). Most of the food here is organic or 'bio' certified - including the yummy chips. And as well as fab grub, there is a good range of beers - organic ones too (or fruit shakes for non-drinkers!).
But the funky, warm atmosphere is another great reason to check out Yellow Sunshine - helped by the fact it is located in happening Kreuzberg. You'll find vegetarians and non-vegetarians enjoying the food, which is always a positive sign, I reckon. Oh, and with burgers averaging around the 4 Euros mark - you know you'll have some money left for going out later!

    Der Imbiss - Kastanienallee

Posted by tigram 28 September 2005

You can get a freshly made crispy 'Nan Pizza' with interesting cold toppings like rocket, avocado and sun dried tomato for four Euros. The large bowls of salad are also four Euros. You must try the home-made lemonade with chilli. Sitting at one of the tables outside is not a bad place for people watching.

    Yellow Sunshine vegetarian cafe

Posted by jemmychaos 8 September 2005

Vegetarian fast food cafe in Kreuzberg, selling 29 different veggie burgers, gorgeous chips (fried with skins still on) and salad, plus tofu curry wurst and a variety of other vegan treats, topped off with lovely juices or beers. 7 euros buys you a burger, chips, salad and a drink. The staff were very friendly (and speak good english when your German lapses) and it stays open until 1am at the weekends.

They are both restaurants that cater well for veggies and are really good value too. I had THE best curry at Amrit and Cafe V is fantastic - very bohemian with very helpful staff.
