The lack of an airport on Patmos is a blessing, as many of the islands beautiful beaches are often deserted says mikhail.
Recent tips about Patmos

While Patmos is one of the most beautiful of Greek islands, the port of Skala is a scruffy, utilitarian port with few tavernas and little to recommend it.

This website gives an honest opinion that you won't find in any of the tourist brochures and many of the tourist websites for that matter.

Blue Bay Hotel

A friendly well run hotel with fantastic views of the bay beyond. Run by an Australian Greek family for whom nothing is too much trouble. Has an internet cafe as well.

Grigos village in Patmos

Posted by bob22 18 May 2007

At Grigos there is a rock about 10 metres high. Around this rock there are foundations of an ancient temple. This seems to imply that during the ancient times the rock had some religion significance. The beach of Grigos is beautiful for swimming but so also are the nearby beaches of Psili Ammos and Diakofti. Kampos is around 11 km north of Patmos town.

Arion Cafe

Posted by bob22 13 May 2007

The oldest cafe in Skala, the port of Patmos. Relax with the whole family and watch the nice view of the small bay. Recommended if you're waiting for a taxi, a boat or the bus to take you up to the monastery of St.John.
