    Grigos village in Patmos

    Posted by bob22 18 May 2007

At Grigos there is a rock about 10 metres high. Around this rock there are foundations of an ancient temple. This seems to imply that during the ancient times the rock had some religion significance. The beach of Grigos is beautiful for swimming but so also are the nearby beaches of Psili Ammos and Diakofti. Kampos is around 11 km north of Patmos town.

    George's Place

    Posted by Aris1 5 July 2006

The best secret cafe of the island is on Campos beach. Excellent sandwiches, salads and pasta, well groomed cocktails, and the must have - enormous cheesecake pieces (surely the best I've ever tasted).

After your swim, relax by playing backgammon or reading a book listening to nice world music. Before you leave, don't forget to buy a trendy George's Place souvenir t-shirt!

On the far left of Campos beach, 5.5 km from the port of Skala. When you get to the beach, You have to walk through the sand to reach it; tel. 22470 31881

The uncrowded beach is shaded by tamarisk trees and there is a taverna and a restaurant a short distance from the water's edge.

The monastery, which can be reached on foot by way of an ancient pilgrim's way, is a functioning spiritual centre of the Greek Orthodox church. Its collection of treasures, well worth seeing.

In the Dodecanese islands by boat from Kos, Leros or the north.
