Instead of staying in a hotel on Rhodes, I'd suggest renting an apartment. The town of Lindos is particularly pleasant and I recommend a company called Luxury Lindos Villas. Their apartments are very stylish and have their own pools.

Athens got its own 'In Your Pocket' city guide this month. Like every other IYP guide around Europe, it is packed with useful, timely and accurate information about accommodation, restaurants, nightlife, sightseeing, shopping etc.
If there isn't one in your hotel room, you can buy it at foreign press news stands for just €2 or simply download it for free.
I stayed there with my family, and found it very relaxing - especially as we knew the kids were safe around the private pool. As it is difficult to choose a villa from the many on offer, I think it is worth mentioning the good ones.
Kalymnos is located in the Dodecanese between the islands of Leros and Kos. Mountains ideal for rock climbing, crystal blue waters for swimming, fishing and scuba diving.
The capital of the island is Pothia, worth seeing are the villages of Vathy, Masouri and the small island of Telendos. You can get there by ferry from Piraeus or by plane via Kos or Rhodes.
This is a bar when you can happily spend the afternoon without a care in the world. The drink is cheap, the food is great (all freshly prepared, which is more than can be said about some of the places close by), and the staff are friendly!
Dorieos Square (think that's the way to spell it), it's off AG Fanourio, Old Town, Rhodes, 00 30 22410 74293. Mixture of gates close by - San Francisco, Red Gate & Kolona
One of the best places to enjoy a good meal in the promenade of Aegina. Its specialities are grilled octopus, shrimps, grilled meat balls and of course Ouzo and wine. Huge portions and very reasonable prices.

A jewel in the Aegean, the easternmost of the Cycladic Islands, it has an evocative beauty, and is remarkably unspoilt. Swimming and plenty of remarkable walks, which give you views to the smaller Cycladic Islands to the north and west. It is a dreamy place, a place to rest and let yourself be taken by a traditional, intimate and quiet life of the island.
Small apartment block with own swimming pool. Very helpful and friendly , welcomed me by my first name. We rented two apartments for the family.
The only negative is that it's too far to walk to Chania, take a five-minute bus trip or hire a car.
Greece has a strong tradition of open air cinema in the summer months, and Athens has a startling number of venues. They can often be a bit shabby, and you'd best bring your own refreshments but with the right movie it can be great. I saw Tarantino's Death Proof on a rooftop in Exarchia, and it's hard to believe it could be better viewed any other way.
Firstly Danielle's Pizzas are amazing. You might wonder why pizza in Rhodes, well, the Italians occupied Rhodes between the wars. I guess it rubbed off. Definitely the best pizza you will get anywhere.
Also in Afandou Theo's Taverna is a small fish taverna set in the traditional village house that Theo the owner and chef was born in.
Wonderful food prepared by the whole family, try the prawns in ouzo sauce. Theo is a fantastic character who wants all his customers to enjoy the real Greece.
Both in Afandou village.
Danielle's is just off the square in the main street.
Theo's is up a side street opposite Eleni Restaurant.
Probably the most amazing of the Greek active volcanos (others include Santorini, Methana, Milos). The island of Nisyros is located south of Kos and is accessible with ferry and hydrofoil.
It's a private villa in a really small quiet village called St. Spiridon, in the north of Corfu. What I really love about it is it's still home to many locals, so you can experience the true Corfu, as opposed to today's tacky modern complexes.
Close to small tavernas offering delicious locally cooked food, and just five minutes' walk from St. Spiridon bay, a gentle beach, perfectly clear for snorkeling.
I found it browsing through the search engines, it's shown on www.villas-in-corfu.co.uk
The island has so many sights and things to do. From restaurants to museums, from day trips to sunbathing, it's all in there. This island has so much to offer and is so versatile, this is a useful website for finding out what there is to see and do.
This is an ideal pied-a-terre for this part of Greece; a great base for business and, equally, a lovely getaway destination for a romantic weekend.
All boxes (staff, amenities, environment, food, etc) ticked on the upper end for this great-value five-star spot. Proximity to the beautiful sea waters can't be over-rated!
You can get free maps, useful illustrated leaflets and small books at the GNTO offices in Athens at 26 Amalias Street. You can also download free maps of Greece from several interesting websites.

A very interesting article about driving to Greece by car. If you plan a driving holiday to Greece read it.

Mavrikos Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Lindos village. After spending six months in Lindos already, working in a Hotel, I have eaten in each and every restaurant that exists in the village. Mavrikos does not compare with any of them.
Tastes and combinations are excellent! The prices are reasonable and the best of all is Dimitris Mavrikos, the owner. Besides being a great chef his singing talents are really good!
After lunch or dinner at Mavrikos, do not miss Geloblu in the centre of the village where you'll find the best ice cream ever - any flavour you can imagine. Vassilis Mavrikos, the owner, is a great host. Ask him to make you the Gelo-Marina Cocktail, it's really good

There's a new website about Corfu, containing loads of info, but the best parts are the traditional Corfiot recipes! If you've ever tried Bianco, Bourdetto or Sofrito, you'll be glad to find those and more recipes free online!
If you want, you can also book online for your next Corfu Holidays!
Corfiot tastes at home!
Aghia Fotia is a nice and organised beach, not far from Chios town, easily reachable also by bus. It has small pebbles and clear blue waters, and you can find also cafes and taverns nearby. For people who like crowded places.

Managros is a beach situtated on the northwest coast of Chios island. It is the biggest beach of Chios. With thick sand, clear, deep and cool waters, it is perfect for those who want to sunbathe and swim in a relaxing and uncrowded environment. Furthermore, it lies close to a camping site.
