We stayed there for 9 days last month and it was very good, comfortable and quiet apartment and right by the river and the Vaci shopping street. The owner was very helpfull even before we arrived in his emails and gave us a lot of good advices about where to go and what to see and so on. Even when we got there he took us on a short walk to show us where everything is in the area so really good service. We are going again later in this year when the weather gets warmer so that we can enjoy the balcony and views. We really recomend this place to stay in Budapest.

The Great Market Hall is centrally located and the largest market in the central Budapest area, on the Pest side of the Liberty Bridge. The building is of beautiful neo-Gothic construction with intricate, heavily-decorated roof tiling.

The market is a three-storey structure, supported with slender metal columns. Even today the market is used by the people of the city for daily necessities such as vegetables, meat and fish. It is also a tourist mecca with lots of traditional salami and paprika on sale. The basement holds a supermarket for convenience shopping.

The sights and smells of this market are unforgettable, but it's setting is the cherry on the cake.

This is an old market hall close to Liberty Bridge, not far from Kalvin ter tube station. Shopping can be an experience and the architecture is of exceptional value. Most vendors remember that Margaret Thatcher visited the market in 1984, but this should not be seen as argument against a visit. Next door you will find the neo-renaissance building of the economics faculty.
