The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a string of 572 tropical islands nearer to Thailand than India. In reality, you can't go to Nicobar and you can only visit a handful of islands, but you will find tropical rainforest, tribal peoples and incredible marine wildlife. And, as yet, a fairly undeveloped tourist industry but that is changing fast.
