India
A very Indian bookshop. I love this place and would visit most weekends. The staff are very helpful and the range of books is pretty amazing. You'll also get an idea what Indians like to read here. The books are cheap and the top floor does all kinds of stationery.
Mahatma Gandhi Road
From the name you might guess that the fourth quarter is Indian, you'd be right. Try some great interpretations of Chinese food here. Generally Indians have a problem with Chinese food so they've added spices and sauces which they find more palatable. It's actually very good!
Church street, off Brigade Road
Perhaps the best Punjabi restaurant I've ever eaten in. Everything on the menu is excellent, it's a small cramped place so you may have to sit outside for a bit until they have a table for you.

When aeroplanes are delayed during the warm, rainy season that causes smog, accept it and take it in your stride. This will help you to enjoy your trip, especially your arrival and departure.
Plan for a 2-part departure, flying the first leg from Bangalore to Mumbai in the evening, with an 11 am flight from Mumbai to Heathrow the next morning. Therefore, any delays will not have you queueing for hours having been up since the crack of dawn with a short fuse for an international departure. Also warn your hotel if there is a chance that you may need accommodation, in the event that you cannot depart.

Zero-G is a fantastic roof-top nightclub. You've never danced till you've danced with a room of young Indians - the atmosphere is fantastic. Wednesday night is Bollywood night and is always popular. Saturday night is funky house night and another great evening out.
Prestige Towers, Residency Road, Bangalore
Chinese restaurant, large and looks upmarket, but is very reasonable and the food is good! Try their 'eat as much as you want' buffet at lunchtime.
It's also on Church Street (off M G Road) and it's a good place to know becuase this street is full of restaurants, all sorts of food and nearly all very good).
Price: Buffet lunch, around 215/Rs per person (about 3 and a bit euros).
Mainland China, Church Street.

Second-hand bookshop, very well-stocked and well-ordered; books are in good condition and very reasonbly priced. And they actually know what they stock so can ask for a title and they will know if they have it and where it is located. Or you may just browse.
Plus point, you can then go out and peruse your finds over a great (cheap!!) cup of coffee at the nearby Indian Cofee House.
M. G. Road (in a turn-off near the Indian Coffee House) on the main road.
Think of a bookshop in a shopping mall and you expect a lot of glossy coffee table books and best sellers. You would be wrong, because this is a very serious, large, well-stocked bookshop in every subject (2 floors) and you can spend hours browsing.
If you are amazed by the number of people browsing everything from cookery to music, be prepared for the check-out. There are nine tills, and from the crowd it looks like they are giving books away. Be patient and enjoy the fact that you are in crowd of people who don't mind waiting for 20 minutes to pay for books! It's not to say the bookshop is inefficient, it's just the number of people it attracts.
