    Mehrauli Archaeological Park

Posted by napeed 8 September 2007

Just behind Qutub Minar and off the beaten track. A bit filthy but an absolute treasure house with old tombstones, forts, water bodies.

If you are hungry, look for the 'Royal Dakshin Restaurant' at one of the edges of the park.
If you decide to brave it until night falls then the djinns come out.

    Lodhi Gardens

Posted by RandeepRamesh 11 August 2005

Delhi is a remarkably green city, but the jewel in the capital’s crown is Lodhi Gardens. Its lawns are filled with an embarrassment of fifteenth century tombs of the Afghan Lodhi dynasty that once ruled Delhi. Among the distinctive domes and Islamic-Indian curves, you can speed-walk with the locals, split your sides in a "laughter club" or join impromptu yoga classes.

    Buddha Jayanti Park

Posted by Pawan 20 September 2006

An extensive parkland located south east of Delhi. Desgined and built in 1956, it is still charming. Ideal spot for family picnics.

    Artists Village

Posted by Pawan 19 September 2006

If you want to escape the hustle bustle of Delhi, this is a great place to go and maybe buy some artwork as well. Around 20 artists' workshops surround a central grassy courtyard with large trees and places to sit. You can watch the artists at work, or simply enjoy this enclave of peace and quiet, with a tea from the local chaiwallah.
