Goa home rental is a upmarket charming villa in north Goa close to the Mapusa-calangute road on the edge of Parra village in Guirim village.
I recommend it as its a spacious three bedroom villa in a gated community (with 24hr security) with a pool for adults and kids. The villa itself has shinny furnishings, furnished kitchen, nice bathrooms. Staff are friendly and were ever willing to please our needs e.g. taxi, sightseeing trips etc.
Location is walking distance to bus stop with easy access to beaches, night and Wednesday flea markets, churches, restaurants, pubs, etc.
We were three couples and each had a bed room/shower to ourselves, pretty spacious. In the mornings the local breadman would bring in fresh Goan Pao (local bread). We were dining out every evening even though there were ample cooking pots, pans, cutlery, crockery etc. Dining in Mapusa Market was at a coffee shop called Xaviers serving Goan dishes mainly, lovely shakes, chilled beers, nice food and fantastic prices. Brittos in Baga has nice food including souza lobos on Calangute beach.

    Yab Yum eco-resort

    Posted by kris1 23 October 2011

Amazing location right next to beach in Asvem, North Goa. Accommodation is in 'eco pods' made of local materials, very comfortable inside with designer touches. The resort is laid back, no TV, just sound of ocean and cool breeze. Perfect combination of nature and comfort. Breakfast is served at your pod, home made jams, delicious teas and coffee, with fresh breads and fruit. Very family friendly too.

Agonda Beach is a three kilometre stretch of beautiful white sand and if you are in search of a relaxing escape watching the sun go down while lounging in a hammock, or a romantic getaway the Om Sai beach huts will not disappoint. The six, simple yet spacious huts are located in a secluded, picturesque area of the beach and the friendly staff ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your exotic Indian retreat. The busiest season is over the New Year period so book early if you are looking to welcome 2012 in style.

If you think Goa’s all about soulless package hotels and overcrowed beaches then think again. Reaching Agonda in the far south of Goa is like finding the holy grail – an almost deserted but absolutely beautiful beach. We stayed at Agonda White Sand in a simple but stylish en-suite wooden cottage set in a coconut grove with lots of space to chill out. And the beach was bang on our doorstep for swimming, dolphin spotting and the most amazing sunsets.

    Casa Colvale

Posted by mitzyli 24 March 2010

I never wanted to leave Casa Colvale. A large house turned into a boutique hotel, you feel like you're staying at a fabulous friend's estate.

I cherished my riverside meals on the deck: the chef prepares dishes to order and the scene is unparalleled. Loved the live sitar players.

I never grew bored: the owner and staff were outgoing and the property offered multiple activities, including canoe rides, speedboat trips to nearby beaches, spa treatments, fishing, etc.

I especially enjoyed how conducive this property is to meeting other people.

    Super-friendly owner and staff.

    Joe's River Cove

    Posted by Alrow200 19 March 2010

Restaurant and bar overlooking a quiet inlet on the river Sal near Cavelossim. We visited during the day and it was really nice just sitting looking out over the river, while enjoying a meal and a drink. Plenty of wildlife to watch. I have not been there on an evening, however I understand that they have entertainment. Other friends have eaten there on an evening and tell me that it is excellent.

    Martin's Corner

    Posted by Alrow200 19 March 2010

Martin's Corner is a wonderful real Goan restaurant. You will get authentic freshly prepared Goan food.
There is usually entertainment on an evening. The credentials of this place are underpinned by the amount of local Goans that go there to eat!

This is a great website I have found which is all about Palolem Beach in Canacona, Goa, India. It lists lots of places to stay and things to do in the area. It is by far the best resource on Palolem on the internet, I highly recommend it. It even has a great forum where you can chat with people about Palolem and what they recommend, so is a must see if you are planning to visit the area.

    Sam's Beach Shack, Mobor Beach

    Posted by Alrow200 4 September 2009

Sam's Beach Shack is great. Whether you want to have a cold drink and a snack or a full meal, you will be made welcome. There are sun beds and a wide range of food is served. Local and imported drinks are available at very reasonable prices.

There is a Beach Party every Tuesday Night, with entertainment, fireworks, music and dancing.

A great atmosphere and very friendly.

Silent Noise parties are held at Neptune's Point in South Goa – a stunning peninsula where hundreds of happy clubbers can look out across the water to Palolem beach as they dance the night away.

Everyone is connected to the music with wireless headphones so the party doesn’t disturb the neighbours (or the local police) and three DJs play simultaneously, competing to get the crowd to tune into their set.

Add in lasers, visuals, circus performers and tepees, and you’ve got a mini festival every week – helping to revive the outdoor rave vibe that originally put Goa on the beach party map.

Its a beautiful house, nestled in an enchanting coconut groove. The groove overlooks a large open paddy field to its east. Beyond the paddy field is a river, then a hill in the horizon. The sunrise is so beautiful here, its like a slice out of paradise.
There's no one around to disturb you, its just you in the lap of mother nature.
The serene Keri Beach is nearby, just 500 meters away.

    Sunshine Goa

    Posted by IKNOWWHATILIKE007 22 January 2009

I definitely prefer South Goa - to the overcrowded and expensive North Goa.
We have been to Goa many times and we chose Colva on this occasion. Its very central in the South and seemed to have everything - a large beach, good bars, sports, good food and nightlife.
We hired a Private Villa that was advertised as "Last Minute Goa" on ebay in the UK.
The price per head was excellent for six people. Location was right by the beach. The standard of the Villa was superb. Well recommended. The website is aptly named SunshineGoa
