Climb every mountain
If you are looking for an awesome mountain experience this might just be the place. The capital of Ladakh, Leh is a quiet market town and the point of departure for all mountaineers.

Friendly cafes, restaurants and guesthouses make you feel comfy before and after you venture out into the wild (and you will need it!). Leh lies at around 3,700m altitude and is the lowest point of the moonland, Ladakh. You don't have to be an expert mountaineer but this is not a quick ticking off of just another tourist sight.

If you don't mind the effort you can experience fantastic mountain scenery and wildlife, friendly people and wounderful buddhist monasteries easily reachable in a few days' walking. I would describe it as Tibet without the Chinese; in fact many guides are Tibetan refugees, as the border is quite close. As more and more people choose it as an alternative to troublesome Nepal the crowd is starting to get in, so this might be the time to go...
