Jimbaran Bay is famous for its many seafood cafes. Bawang Merah restaurant is at the northernmost section of Jimbaran beach and therefore offers a unique view over the bay, amazing! We dined at a table on the beach, enjoyed our grilled seafood and the magnificent sunset there. An unforgettable dinner next to the ocean.

It's like the best parts of a roast dinner!
You get a whole chicken for 70k IDR - well worth it!

A small restaurant specialising in local foods, also a few Chinese dishes on their menu. We came over to this place because we had some treatment at their spa the day before. Ambiance was just okay but the food was tasty beyond compare. Best chicken we had in Bali (ayam sambal bawang, chicken with onion and chilli). And ask them for their herbal drinks (jamu). They freshly prepared for us this kind of medicine drink made of turmeric, honey and lemon and I'll never forget this health booster.

Murni's is an institution. Location is beyond compare, this restaurant has four open-air levels that step down the steep hillside overlooking the river. Balinese ambience is tasteful but not over-styled, many nice details in decorations and furnishing. Go there for the pleasant atmosphere and view, the good International food and maybe for a cocktail or coffee and cake.

What a find in the backstreets of Ubud. Belgian owned and very professional. Eat inside in the Wantilan, or where we preferred to sit every night, outside in the garden courtyard. Mainly European food, simple but well prepared and presented. Staff are wonderful, pleasant friendly Balinese. On average we spent 20 pounds for two main courses and one half litre of wine. Always full and need reservation for dinner.
