Green and pleasant

Riga is a beautiful gem of a city on the River Daugava. The old town is a resplendent, miniature version of Prague, but with a character all of its own. This is a very green city, full of neat little parks and open spaces, and it has been referred to as the Paris of the Baltics. Riga is a small, compact city and the old town can easily be explored in a day. The people are very friendly and it must be one of the least intimidating places on earth.
