Although these are more beach bungalows than beach huts, their price is very reasonable and compares to the price of beach huts elsewhere. They have 32 bungalows set in 67 acres of jungle right on the edge of the Andaman Sea. I have never felt so close to nature. We had a hornbill feeding it's young less than 10 metres from our balcony, we could see dolphins out at sea and we even had a morning visit from two monkeys who somehow got into our room! Treat yourself and stay in a 'luxury' beach hut.

This is a private resort on the cheap! Some of the buildings need a bit of renovation, but the setting is fantastic - in forest, on a great private beach. I suspect that they'll spend some money refurbishing the place, then up the prices, but at the moment it's great value (but lower service, I'd think) compared to neighbouring resorts. Visit the restaurants at Perdana Quay for some great food - better than the hotel restaurant.

I loved staying at the Berjaya. Join Dev's night wilderness (twice a week) at the Berjaya. Indulge in 90-minute outdoor massages at The Berjaya ($65 USD). Ride the cable car. Take the island-hopping tour. Try durian (at your own risk). Watch out for the monkeys. Do not carry food, drink, etc. around them.

The food is amazing and the atmosphere unrivalled. It sits right on the best bit of Pantai Cenang beach, amid palm trees and beautiful sands. My partner and I stayed next door at the Pelangi Beach Hotel, which was fine, but the food at Beach Garden was divine, we still have dreams about it now. The location is just true tropical paradise, food superb and cheap and the staff are kind and attentive. The resort also does basic rooms which I have been told are very good. We met people who are on second and third return visits to the resort, which speaks for itself.

A wonderful restaurant and hotel set right on the beautiful golden sands of Pantai Cenang. The food is delicious with a great fusion of Asian and European tastes. The cocktails are fantastic. I especially recommend the jug of frozen Margharita. Perfect to watch the sun go down. This place is so beautiful, afterwards I strolled out to the beach with my girlfriend and proposed to her. We are getting married in Malaysia this year!
