Morocco
Situated in a maze of muddy, busy, narrow alleyways, this relatively large riad offered us a touch of calm elegance and sophistication. We were treated with warm hospitality, offered help whenever we needed it by Adil the manager and all his staff. They spoke good English and nothing was too much trouble for them in this delightfully furnished, conveniently situated riad. The generous sized public spaces, including interior gardens, were tastefully decorated and furnished as were the bedrooms. The one evening meal which we had there on the night of our arrival and the breakfasts on the roof terrace were generous and enjoyable. Having the riad's driver collect us from the airport and lead us through the narrow dark alleyways to the welcoming mint tea on arrival in the riad was a good move.
I would definitely stay there again

Riad Abaka is a short but bustling walk from the square, and so is perfectly placed. You can exhaust yourself haggling in the souks, and dodging snake charmers and performing monkeys and still be a short stagger from the riad. It is a little oasis of calm in a frenzied sea of boiling humanity. The central area is calm . The roof terrace is a good place to retire to at night and the Koutoubia Mosque is in sight.
The room we stayed in was nice and was what I shall describe as tastefully basic. If you are expecting northern European luxury then you are, perhaps, on the wrong holiday - that's not what Marrakech is about.
The staff are really lovely humorous helpful people, who are down to earth and efficient. They are actually essential to the experience of being there. I extend them my great thanks.
Adill the manager is a charming and humorous man with a quick mind and a lot of knowledge. You receive a briefing on your first morning during which he talks you through geography, culture, and haggling in the souk (all free of charge!). The briefing is extensive but very useful, and the map you take away with it's biro squiggles and labels becomes an essential traveling companion.
Breakfast is in the Moroccan style - yogurt, fruit, french bread, coffee. It's good healthy stuff. You can always have mint tea, or English tea if you want.

Excellent service with a smile. Comfortable accommodation - beautifully decorated, in a central but quiet location.
We had a fantastic five nights here and I recommend Oliver and his team to anyone wanting a friendly, welcome break in Marrakech.

This was one of the nicest boutique styled inns we have ever visited. The riad was beautiful and Tissam the manager was wonderfully helpful. We were travelling with my mother and step-father (in their 80s) as well as our eight-year-old daughter and so had rather complicated and diverse needs/desires. Tissam accommodated us all artfully, giving us a gracious welcome, an extended orienting walk towards the medina, and all sorts of very helpful tips. We stayed in the riad three nights and ate there the last two nights. The meals (tagines) were delicious - among the best we have enjoyed in Morocco. In the evenings we sat on the roof decks enjoying cool drinks and the lovely view. If we ever return, we will definitely stay there

This was the best riad I have ever stayed in. Great deco, just near to the Jemaa el Fna square. The staff were so helpful and food is a must to try! There is a pool in the roof terrace and you really disconnect from your day to day activity.

I really recommend the Riad Dar Darma, a beautiful palace in the heart of the Medina. I was there in June with my husband and it is was fantastic!
We loved the particular architecture and the Moroccan atmosphere. We stayed in a colorful and very intimate suite in complete privacy. The dinners were also superb, very tasty and the staff were very kind.
Dar Darma is an amazing place to spend a romantic holiday.

We stayed at Riad Dar Eliane for four nights and our stay could not have been better. It was the first time that we have stayed in a riad so did not know quite what to expect. It is very different to a hotel but we enjoyed every moment of it. All the staff were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had breakfast every morning on the roof terrace and it was absolutely delicious. It was such a nice clean place to come back to at the end of our day. The decor was lovely. The riad is conveniently situated just 10 minutes’ walk from the main square. We would definitely stay there again if we were to go back to Marrakech.

We were greeted at by friendly, courteous English speaking staff members, who throughout our one week stay never wavered in their attention to every detail, making our visit a memorable one. It was so comfortable! We felt like guests in a palace (it actually used to be one). The Italian owner has paid attention to preserving every detail perfectly, while adding just enough Tuscan touches to enhance the atmosphere. Our room, the Blue Suite, was beyond luxurious. On site hammam, massage and helpful guides were real pluses.

I spent a week in Morocco, and while I was in Marrakech, Riad Dar Najat, was for me a great attraction.
The Riad is beautiful, nicely decorated, the kind of place where you know the owners take care of every detail with great care.
The staff were very friendly, and made me feel at home. It's very special the way you are treated.
The food is another attraction. Delicious, delicious!
And about the location, very important: it's very easy to get there, and go to Djema El Fna, with no possibility of missing the way.
So, everything is perfect! Totally recommend!

Dar Darma is a nice riad in the Medina that we discovered surfing on the net. It's a great place to stay with comfortable rooms and the staff are very kind. It is very near to the Museum of Marrakech and also the famous square is not very far from there. The cuisine too is very good.

This is an amazing private villa to rent in the countryside just 20 mins from the centre of Marrakech.
Myself and my husband plus four friends shared it for a week and had an amazing time. The house is really spacious with lush gardens and a pool, so we all had enough private space, but delicious communal meals cooked for us by the amazing house-keeper. All we had to do was hop on the free shuttle which dropped us to the supermarket to stock up on ingredients.
We were lucky to have great weather so didn't really leave the side of the pool much.
A couple of trips to the Medina satisfied our retail needs and we had some nice lunches and dinner in town (would recommend Cafe De La Poste in the new part of town, and Terrace Des Epices in the Souks)

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. The staff immediately proved attentive (but never intrusive), warm, charming and incredibly good humored. The atmosphere, the music, the staff, the fantastic Moroccan decor was perfect. After the chaos and hectic pace of Marrakesh, Dar Najat was an oasis of calm. Dinner was cooked to order and a true taste of Morocco - superbly presented - excellent quality. The ladies in the kitchen took great pride in producing wonderful food. Breakfasts were equally good. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff - they even supplied us with a prepaid mobile phone with their numbers and reliable taxis for use when lost in the Medina and souks.

Dar Darma is a riad, a typical palace of Marrakech and it is located inside the old Medina. It is near the nice Medersa and the Museum of Marrakech, really a good place from where you can easily discover Marrakech. I loved the style of this riad and the sophisticated amtosphere! You can choose different kind of rooms and apartments, each with its own style. a great place indeed!

This is a very special riad located in the Medina of Marrakech. I stayed there four days with my boyfriend, and we loved Dar Darma! Our Mirror Suite was beautiful with a nice living room and beautiful mirrors. We also had a cookery lesson with the chef of Dar Darma and it was so funny!

We have just returned from a week in this beautiful villa and felt compelled to post it because it was such amazing value for money (£60 each per night!) and very lovely.
It was just the two of us but we got the run of the whole place. There was a free shuttle to the centre of the marrakech but we found it hard to drag ourselves away from the private pool and garden so only used it once. The lovely housekeeper deserves special mention - her cooking was sublime.

Our stay at Dar Najat began with a pre-arranged transfer on our arrival from Casablanca to Marrakech. From the moment we entered the Riad, Olivier the owner made us feel that his home was ours. Our room on the first floor, was cosy with windows opening onto the delightful courtyard. Olivier then gave us a brief orientation to Marrakech and guided us along the short ten minute walk to Jemaa El Fna, pointing out several landmarks to enable us to retrace our steps on our return.
Our first evening meal was served on the roof top, where we enjoyed Olivier's interpretation of a classical tagine accompanied by delightfully presented starter and dessert, not to mention Olivier's selection of Moroccan wines. You can always rely on a Frenchman to discover the best wines in any country!
One of our experiences was to purchase some of the local cooking ingredients with Sakina the cook. This included an impromtu tour of the Jewish area and some hassle free assistance in puchasing an authentic tagine and some spices. In all, we ate at Dar najat for five of our seven nights and were never disappointed with the food or the wine
During our stay Olivier also arranged a Hammam and a day in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains. In summary, we enjoyed a very relaxing week in Dar Najat thanks to the charming and thoughtful attention of our host Olivier and his delightful staffs.

We loved our stay at Riad Dar Eliane, perfectly located in the Marrakech medina, just minutes from the souks and the main square. It was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The owner John was incredibly helpful, giving us a good intro to the city and even a quick tour of the souks. He was always on hand to answer questions or advise us on places to explore. We ate one night on the terrace, a delicious home cooked tagine, sitting under the stars gazing over the rooftops towards the Koutoubia Mosque, a fabulous view and a delicious meal. We ordered wines and beers every night which we drank in the Riad but alcohol is not available in the medina. The breakfasts were fantastic, the other guests were very friendly, and overall it was a great experience. We had a truly wonderful time and I would recommend it to anyone of any age. It is great value, with a wonderful owner and staff and in the perfect location. We loved it and plan to return.
