Riad Dar Najat to stay

Posted by JoanaMonteiro 20 April 2009

Dar Najat is the coolest riad in Marrakech!
This is not just a place to stay. I was treated like a princess. It felt like being in a friend's house. I need to return soon. I miss my chair on the terrace. I miss my breakfast late in the morning under the warm sun of Marrakech. I miss the wonderful music. I miss them all!

Hotel Riad Al Moussika

Posted by MargedB 18 April 2009

I found the hotel Riad Al Mousska fabulous from the moment I walked in. They sent a car to pick me up from the airport and immedietly I felt very special. The food was superb. beautifully presented and served. In fact, the service was wonderful - the staff being friendly and obliging. They arranged everything I needed and made quiet suggestions to make my stay in the city more enjoyable. It has its own hamman, and I had an excellent massage while I was there. It is central - only minutes from the main square and in the centre of the souks and close to the Square Jemaa El Fna, but very quiet and peaceful. I relaxed and enjoyed the whole experience from beginning to end. How wonderful to be woken each morning with the sound of doves.Thoroughly recomend - five star treatment.

Dar Darma

Posted by Giocop 9 April 2009

Dar Darma is a small and very exclusive palace situated in the Old Medina with few rooms preciously decorated. Our Suite Patio was really comfortable and spacious. The palace also has beautiful terraces, with a swimming pool, where you can relax drinking the traditional mint tea. Also the cuisine is very good. We asked for typical dishes, and the cook prepared us cous cous, brochette and tajine: all was very very good! Dar Darma is also near to the most important places of interest. From the hotel we walked to visit the Medersa, the Museum of Marrakech and vibrant Square Jemaa El-Fna. We have really appreciate our stay at Dar Darma: a wonderful experience indeed!

Hotel Riad Al Moussika

Posted by AudreyP 29 March 2009

My husband and I just returned from another trip to Marrakesh . Incredible city with a special attraction! We stayed this time at Riyad Al Moussika. ( www.riyad-al-moussika.com ), and our sojourn there, was fantastic. There are riads with cheaper fares, but if you consider that lunches are included, it is not. In addition to that its location is very closed to the square Jemaa El Fna, the main square of the Medina, but you can reach it as well by taxi. Our room had a loggia and a private terrace on the roof both overlooking the swimming pool which is so well conceived that looks like an old Andalusia basin as in the Medersa Ben Youssef. Remarkable job as it is the rest of the Riad that has been restored with a strict respect of the Moorish architecture without any concession to the present widespread Disneyland-like way of restoration I saw in the others riads where we stayed in our previous visits to the red city: A mix and match of pseudo oriental styles, more a movie set, than real places. At Riad Al Moussika it’s possible to feel the presence of the past and the authenticity of the place embrace pleasantly its guests: A timeless spot with a genius loci!. All of the staff speak good English, thing not very common in Morocco , and they were all exceptional, but Badreddine deserves a special mention. He was unbeatably helpful and all the times with a smile. The exceptional quality of the breakfast and lunches is certainly the best we had in Marrakech so far, although the fact that those are included in the rates like all non alcoholic beverages, refreshments and the delicious Moroccan patisserie served at the tea-times. If you want to have more sybarite pleasures, spoil yourself in the hammam : Unforgettable relaxing experience. In conclusion, Riyad Al Moussika is a spectacular place where we will stay in our future visits to Marrakech, and worth every cents, (I mean dirham)!

Riad Maizie

Riad Maizie is a friendly, relaxed and comfortable place to stay. Although it's only a few minutes walk from all the bustle it's beautiful, calm and quiet. We were made so welcome by James, Abdulillah and Amal and would love to go back.

When shopping or booking a trip, discounts and special offers are always welcome, especially nowadays. This summer the coolest travel deal seems to come from Marrakech, Morocco where Riad Kniza, a high end boutique hotel, is proposing to its guests a “Pay What You Feel Fair” offer. It’s very simple: at the end of your stay you decide how much you wish to pay depending on your level of satisfaction. As advertised in Riad Kniza’s website “can’t get fairer than that”.

Hotel Riad Al Moussika

Posted by PaddyFrog 10 February 2009

We cannot praise Riyad Al Moussika enough; the effortless attention to our every wish was discrete and subtle, nothing was too much trouble for the staff.

The lunch every day was excellent. Our last meal was the best Tajine we have ever tasted - it unfortunately has changed our appreciation forever and whenever we choose a Tajine it will be compared less favourable with today's creation.
You must visit the Berber souk at the base of the Atlas mountain. The staff at the Al Moussika will arrange it with a very knowledgeable taxi driver who will outline every interesting site,
including for old rockers like me, " Mick Jaggers" Marrakesh hideaway.
The Library is an oasis of tranquillity with an excellent cross section of reading material in many languages.
Multi channel television and wi-fi in every room.
We chose this Riyad because of the TripAdvisor reviews and once again members were spot on.

Riad dar Najat

Posted by funtravel 9 February 2009

This Riad is definitely the best place i have stayed in. The owner Oliver is very welcoming and friendly and speaks very good English. We stayed for two nights after a trip in the Atlas Mountains where i proposed to my girlfriend. We stayed in the room called Nora which was amazing and very romantic, highly recommended!
All the staff were really helpful, making sure we had evertything we needed, showing us the best places to visit and arranging taxis to and from the airport.
The Riad itself is amazing, and the perfect place to relax after a busy day visiting the sights and shopping in the souks. Each morning we had a lovely breakfast on the roof terrace. We strongly reccommend staying here and loved it so much we are already planning our next trip back!

Riad Al Moussika

Posted by SeanMary 5 February 2009

My wife and I stayed at Riad Al Moussika hotel for four nights in early January, and it was definitely one of the highlights of our journey to Morocco! Our choice of the hotel was made completely on the suggestion of Daniel Jacobs on The Observer, Sunday December 21 2008, and on Trip Advisor reviews: Before arriving, we were wondering if we have made the good choice, but the minute we walked in, we realized that Riyad Al Moussika was beyond all our expectations. We got an amazing room (the green one) with a private terrace and a beautiful loggia in front that overlooked the mature trees garden and the nice swimming pool, and all the Riad was done in very capturing style. The service of the boys was impeccable and the food served by the Chef Cordon bleu, to die for. The Riad itself is very beautiful and authentically Moroccan and we felt very much like home.

Riad Al Moussika

Posted by Angientom 4 February 2009

We have just returned from a five-day holiday in Marrakech. Al Moussika was our base to explore the medina and for trips to the coast and to the Atlas mountains. The riyad is a carefully and tastefully restored historical building which offers a quiet retreat after a busy day in the pulsating city. There are only six bedrooms and many additional sitting rooms including a well stocked library and a room with a grand piano. The weather in January was too cold to use the pool in the beautiful courtyard but we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the hamam. Breakfast is of very good quality and the lunches were among the best meals we had in Marrakech. The personnel is competent and very helpful and offers a friendly, personalized service. Restaurants and transportation are suggested on request and promptly organized. We highly recommend this riyad!

Riyad Al Moussika

Posted by wandaitaly 31 January 2009

The Hotel Riyad Al Moussika, where I spent with friends a long weekend at the beginning of our journey to the south of Morocco in early January, is a place that has stopped time, where the magical atmosphere, relives Morocco of Pasha of 1800, but with all the comfort of our century. Everything is perfect, authentic, calm, serene.

I recommend strongly this hotel for its central location, even for the excellent and very professional service provided by the young boys of the staff, always smiling and present without being intrusive.

The chef and owner, Khalid, a nice and helpful big boy, who speaks I do not know how many languages, but among them an excellent Italian that has enabled me to know a world of things about authentic Marrakech, thing impossible otherwise, due to my language limitations, and, most important, who cooks in divine way.

I conclude that the value for money is very good considering that the copious breakfast and the courses haute cuisine lunch, (by far the best of all restaurants in Marrakech and Morocco, where we ate), are included in rate.

Only one regret: Have stayed there for four nights only!

Riad Kniza

Posted by aleggleton 23 January 2009

Marrakech is a madhouse (in the nicest sense) and in the middle of this hive of activity lies the Riad Kniza. As much as I loved the atmosphere of the medina it was wonderful to walk through the large woooden door and into another world. Everything about the riad was so classy, the staff were very helpful and the ambience so relaxing. I did think the riad was a tad pricey but I guess - to a degree - you get what you pay for. If ever I was to return to Marrakech this is the place I would stay at.

Riad Kniza

From the moment you arrive at Riad Kniza you know you are staying somewhere special. It's an oasis of tranquility set within the city walls and only a few steps from the bustling narrow streets of Marrakech. An excellent location within the ancient Medina and only a few minutes walk to the main historic sights. The riad is tastefully decorated and the suites luxuriously appointed and very comfortable. The swimming pool in the open courtyard is very inviting and a welcome place to cool down after relaxing on the comfortable sun loungers on the rooftop terrace. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. They really made us feel at home during our stay and this all added to the fabulous experience of staying in the real Marrakech.

Riad Maizie

Posted by DebsH 27 November 2008

Riad Maizie is a beautiful calm oasis right in the heart of Marrakech. Reached through a maze of alleyways, but only seven or so minutes' walk from the main square, it's set on three floors (the top one being a fabulous sun terrace) around a cool tiled courtyard.

Our accommodation was fabulous - comfortable and spacious, and the whole place is ideal as a base from which to see the sights, or for day-long lounging - our favourite hobby. Our host, James, was the most charming, knowedgeable and helpful person, and his team were also lovely - helpful and eager to please. We may well have exasperated James a wee bit with our lack of sightseeing ambition, but it never showed and a plentiful supply of teas, coffees, cooling drinks and interesting chat was always on offer.

This is a great place for a holiday - we spent six days there, but I think you can book for shorter breaks - or, of course, for longer! Warmly recommended.

Riad Maizie

Posted by leoleoleo 21 September 2008

Riad Maizie is a stunningly restored riad in the heart of the Marrakech medina owned by the author Miranda Innes. It is five minutes' walk from the main souks and 10 from Djemaa Fna, and is the perfect tranquil spot to retreat to after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. The English manager James was very helpful and very knowledgeable about what to do in Marrakech (and how much to pay).

They have five beautiful rooms to stay in, a lovely roof terrace and the traditional Moroccan meals were very good (especially the lamb and prune tagine).

Islane hotel

Posted by Fidge 10 August 2008

Superb location. Just inside the medina walls and across from the Koutobia Mosque. Very central and in a good location. It cost us £114.00 for four nights for a double room in August 2008.

It is basic three-star accommodation in Morocco. May not be the equivalent of three-star in Europe but comfortable none the less. Only word of warning is that it is not a particularly quiet hotel.

I visited the hotel at the end of May and the hotel was as the brochure described and better. I was there with three friends and we had a "just what the doctor ordered" holiday in terms of relaxation, sleep and lots of laughs. Yes the spa is a little basic at present but the manager, who I didn't feel was arrogant at all, has told me that they will have a newer much larger spa by the end of the year and that there will be more treatments. The food is amazing and the beds are incredibly comfortable, along with all the secret little hidden places. We are all definitely going again next spring to get an early summer tan and help finish the start of the year detox before the summer.

Riad des Dollar des Sables

Posted by SionEdwards 28 July 2008

Great escape for couples and very good value, worth it for less than 80 euros! We did enjoy our romantic break particularly, for its character and its cosy and friendly ambience. Such a comfort with its authentic patio and fountain or else its sunroof terrace with its Moroccan sofa lounge. Very friendly atmosphere and high care of customer. Ideal location in the medina, just on the doorsteps of the souks and two minutes walk from the central place. Once back to the riad, it is worth requesting a full body massage to conclude your day. Can't wait to plan another relaxing break and enjoy Mouna's cooking, so yummy! Breakfast are very full there. Can't tell more, just try it and book it now. English spoken and British are very welcome.
