    Argan Xtreme Sports (AXS)

Posted by sarapish 22 April 2013

AXS offers bicycle tours, rentals and sales in Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains. The tours range from easy to expert and offer both on and off road options. It's run by Americans and Moroccans and all the guides speak great English. The bicyces are top of the line Giant bikes and differ depending on what tour option you take. This was the highlight of my trip to Marrakech - definitely the best way to see the city and an easy day trip into the Atlas mountains, which are very beautiful.

Don't rent a bike in Marrakesh!

Posted by ThaiDi 31 December 2007

We thought it would be a good idea to rent bikes for a day and venture out to the Palmerai. Unfortunately, after cycling what seemed like the right number of kilometres in the requisite direction, we found nothing except for dusty building sites. Our time (and money!) would have been better spent catching a petit taxi to the palmeraie, or probably better, to one of the beach clubs to relax, rather than getting stressed out as motorbikes and cars whizzed past us, churning up dust. Not recommended!

We rented our bikes from a motorbike parking spot near the Hotel Ali, which is near the Place Djemaa Al Fna.

    Bike Morocco

Posted by pickles 12 May 2006

This is a fantastic little mountain biking company that leads independent trips through the high Atlas Mountains.

The main guide has spent years running trips in this area and as such introduces you to little-known single tracks and beautiful vistas - plus, because it's pretty free and easy you may find yourself on a unique little adventure!

They work with independent local tour companies and accommodation consists of traditional Berber-style village houses, meaning that you get a real slice of local life.

The trails are beautiful, the life simple and the experience of breaking away from all the other big-style travel companies is quite irreplaceable.
