Twinned with The Lincolnshire Poacher (a Tynemills pub) in Nottingham, In De Wildeman is a bar to look out for in Amsterdam. Friendly with a mixed clientèle, it serves over 200 bottled beers and 18 on draft. The only drawback is that it would benefit from a smoking ban.

In de Wildeman certainly justifies its label as a bierproeflokal (beer tasting house) with its choice of 200 bottled beers and another 18 or so on tap.

If not paying in advance, keep track of what you owe, or you may end up with Jason's breakfast on your tab. Apparently, it's a running joke amongst the staff. Good Guinness. Especially camp barman, can be humoured at length. The expat regulars are horrific and look like they never leave (or bathe), although I am told it does shut at one in the morning.
