The Nederland Fotomuseum is THE photography gallery in Rotterdam. The Chema Madoz exhibition was a very clever, sometimes humorous, collection of black and white images. It really captured my attention and impressed me with the creative and innovative ideas behind each photograph. It was refreshing to find an art exhibition that I could enjoy, understand and actually sink my teeth into.

The show-window is attached to the exterior of
a bar called 'de Schouw’.

international- priming and established) have shown their works at 'De Aanschouw'.

Cafe Jospehine is a very restful bar-cum-restaurant next to the water and only 15 mins by metro from the city centre. It is full of books and has one room that is decked out like a library. Very ornate and luxurious, yet less expensive than most bars in the city centre, good bar staff who serve coffee the traditional Dutch way with a glass of water with ice and a shot of rum with cream. My local in Rotterdam and former favourite student haunt
Oostplein, metro Oostplein.

North of Kralingseplaslaan, take Tram no 7 from Central Station and alight at Jerichiolaan and walks north for 300m. Alternatively take tram 21 to Avenue Concordia and walk north, take the metro to Gerdesiaweg or Voorschoterlaan and walk north for 1km.

A busy restaurant (book in advance) underneath the Bazar hotel offering a reasonably priced North African, Turkish and Iranian menu.
Plenty of bars, cafes on Witte de Withstraat to let your grilled chicken kebab and couscous settle, afterwards.
A word of warning though, tried to add 'tourist tax' of a couple of drinks we did not have. Shame, as is put a dampner on an otherwise enjoyable Bazar experience.
