    Mauritshuis

Posted by PhilSen 20 September 2006

Though the special exhibition concluded on September 18, here you’ll still find even more Rembrandts, including the pleasingly gory ‘Anatomy Lesson of Dr Nicolaes Tulp’ and the very last of his 80 self-portraits. The museum also boasts a host of other Golden Age masterpieces, such as Vermeer’s ‘Girl With a Pearl Earring’, all set within the magnificent surrounds of a 17th century palace beside the national parliament.

    Fotomuseum den Haag

For a photography museum this has impressive gallery space which is well lit. They display contemporary work as well as pieces by more established photographers. The exhibitions change throughout the year. Shares its premises with the GEM contemporary art museum, which isn't nearly as good and shows off lots of irreverent conceptual nonsense.
