Safe and sound

While most people have the erroneous perception that Pakistan, especially the capital, Islamabad, is a dangerous place, I find it to be quite charming. And I love staying at the Serena Hotel. It is quite beautiful, filled with art and carpets created locally. The staff are exquisitely polite and helpful, and there is no tipping. The food is excellent, and the pool is one of the best in the country.
