Take a dip
Upolu is the main island of Samoa (not American Samoa which is another group of islands next door). It is the more populated of the Western Samoan Islands and the majority of the people live on, or just off, one long road that circumnavigates the island.

The area has some stunning waterfalls, and to just drive around the island taking in the local villages is a memorable day in itself. You can even go sliding down the 'Papaseea Sliding Rocks' at one lot of waterfalls. Although the main part of the island is fairly hectic, and a bit dusty from the road and exhaust fumes, it is very easy to hire a car or catch a bus to the more secluded areas - the bus ride is an experience in itself!

It is a wonderful place to visit. Any trip to Upolu is not complete without at least a one-day trip to the neighboring island of Savaii so look into that also.
