    Hector Pieterson Museum

Posted by shafiurrahman 26 November 2005

A very well designed, stylish and informative museum for those interested in recent South African history. Interesting exhibits including video footage. Hector Pieterson was the 13-year-old school boy who was shot dead by South African security forces on June 16, 1976. He was one of many hundreds. The picture of Hector’s lifeless body being carried became iconic in the struggle against apartheid.

    Hector Pieterson Square, Soweto.
