Finca al-manzil

Posted by 1001 17 May 2006

This is a wonderfully relaxed bed and breakfast set in the stunning Sierra Montanhchez, near Caceres. Just the place to chill out after getting all hot and bothered with the wonders of Caceres,Trujillo or Merida. The finca is within easy reach of all. Great decoration, atmosphere and lovely pond, set into the rocks of a mountain.

Museum Wolf Vostell

Posted by 1001 17 May 2006

A homage to Wolf Vostell and all that is Fluxus. His home for many years, this group of original 18th century wool washing buildings is simply splendid in its own right and quite bizarre, with the Vostell installations still shocking after all these years. The Fluxus collection is still thought provoking, and includes a Yoko Ono.
The whole area is protected because of the amazing rock formations and stork colonies.

Torre de Sandes

A great summer restaurant because of the beautiful courtyard, complete with peacock strutting. Right in the heart of the historical centre. Expensive but perfect service and yummy food.

Historical centre, near the Portuguese consulate
