    Sierra de Villuercas

Posted by lucerito 25 October 2009

These are beautiful mountains in the middle of the county. If you like walking or hiking between cork trees, jaras (Cistus ladanifer L) in spring, or hearing the calls of male deers to female deers in the autumn, this is your place.
There are leafy valleys like the Viejas river valley and Almonte river Valley, where trout live making it a paradise for hunters and river fishermen.
There are stunning views from the summits over a mild-wild, well-preserved landscape, with only a few small picturesque villages.

Take Madrid-Badajoz, A-5 highway. Turn off where you has just gone out from the tunnel at Puerto Miravete, take the turn off to Deleitosa, and in a few minutes you are in paradise.
