The old and the new

La Coruña is a beautiful town by the sea in north-west Spain, in the region of Galicia and close to Santiago de Compostela, which was the most important destination for pilgrimage in the Middle Ages.
La Coruña combines culture, beaches, history, fun and entertainment in a fantastic atmosphere. The Old Town is a monument in itself full of old romanesque churches and secluded corners far from the bustling new town outside its walls. Pablo Picasso lived in La Coruña and Sir John Moore is buried in San Carlos Garden in the Old Town.
Nowadays Coruña welcomes visitors to its fantastic new buildings: the Science Museum, the Aquarium Finisterrae, the Domus (humankind museum), the Convention Centre and Opera House and a new leisure complex opened this year, El Puerto, where you can find the best examples of Spanish and international gastronomy.
As a tourist you will leave Coruña but Coruña will remain in your thoughts forever.
