The only downside is the wait (in high season) to take the cable-car at the beginning and end of the day, but this is easily solved by a couple of tips; in the morning, take the free 5 minute bus ride to Grand Paradis and then the new high speed chairlift to Planachaux; in the afternoon ski back down the same way, stopping off at the quintessential mountain restaurant ‘Chez Marius’ for a ‘vin chaud’ as you wait for the sun to start setting.
