An important stronghold in Thai/Khmer history. Old palaces and temples, particularly famous for its monkeys which roam the streets (careful of that camera and your sunglasses!). Surrounded by beautiful countryside especially the winter sunflower fields.

About 3 hrs north east of Bangkok. The train journey is wonderful and arrives directly into the old town.
