Crystal waters
Bodrum is a popular holiday destination in the Aegean sea. It's ancient name is Halikarnassus, the birth place of Herodotus and there are many archeological sites to discover along its shoreline.

The resort has a lot to offer visitors from gulet cruises and scuba diving in the crystal blue waters to charming villages, local bazaars, a lively nightlife and art festivals.

The best time of the year to visit Bodrum is the early summer and autumn as it's calm and still very warm for a relaxing beach or cultural holiday. The high season is actually overcrowded, and for a relaxed atmosphere one should search for small hotels off the beaten track of the regular tourists.

Must-sees in Bodrum are: The Underwater Archeological Museum at Bodrum castle, the Bodrum fabric bazaar and the Yalikavak bazaar, Gümüslük village with its amazing view and nice fish restaurants and Atami Hotel in Paradise Bay, Golkoy, the most beautiful bay in the whole peninsula.

For visitors who would like to visit the major ancient sites like Ephesus or Aphrodisias, Bodrum is an ideal location as it only takes 3 hours to get there - with many daily organised tours on offer.
