    Fish (and chips)

    Posted by Alliston 5 July 2006

    For fresh fish, try Brighton and Newhaven Fishsales on the edge of Shoreham harbour. Absolutely fresh off the boat, they supply a whole load of local restaurants, but have a large counter too. Good range, including local black bream and beautiful sea bass.

    For Fish and Chips, Bankers on Western Road is a favourite. Sit down and takeaway, old fashioned feel, fantastic chips.

    Shoreham-by-Sea

    Posted by LucyC 4 July 2006

    To avoid the crowds in Brighton, head further west along the coast to Shoreham-by-Sea. Shoreham beach is lovely and rarely crowded. The Seafood Experience, just back from the beach, is great for tapas and seafood platters.

    Regular buses and trains from Brighton to Shoreham-by-Sea. Journey time is around 10 minutes;

    A seafood restaurant with variable food but black tie staff and a grandeur straight out of the 20s.
