    Bay View Inn

    Posted by kris1 30 December 2012

Widemouth Bay is quintessential English seaside. A huge expanse of sea and sand welcomes you as you drive into the bay. The Bay View Inn is a great, friendly pub/restaurant and has good reasonably priced rooms, including family rooms with DVD players, comfy beds and terraces overlooking the ocean. It's a popular place for the locals and gets busy but at 11PM all goes quiet and a good night's sleep can be had with just the sound of waves to help you drop off. The Bay has a surf school, local shop selling fresh seafood, good cafe on the beach and a charming old-fashioned 50's fresh fish and chip van for cheap and cheerful evening suppers.

    The Weir Cafe

    Posted by sheels4nige 21 August 2012

The Weir Cafe at Whalesborough Farm now offers a 'Tramper'scooter to hire which enables wheelchair users and those with difficulty walking to the farm and Bude canal. It can go up and down slopes, over bumps and tree roots, through shallow puddles, mud and soft ground at a top speed of four miles per hour.
The cafe is in a beautiful setting and offers great food day and night.

    Welcome Beach

Posted by detitomount 23 May 2011

Welcome Beach on the Cornish and north Devon border. Hidden away from the crowds it has some of the best body boarding in the area, with incredible crashing waves. The beach is hidden at high tide and looks like it's just rocks, but at low tide the sea goes back and there is acres of beautiful sand and the body boarding is second to now. There is a lovely waterfall to wash under once you've had enough of the sea salt!
