Primrose Farm B&B

Posted by SuffolkP 18 January 2011

A blue room and a yellow room, both in delicate pastel shades and frilly lace soft furnishings. I think of the Yorkie bar advert, but with a twist, this is not for men!
The exotic cats bred in their own lavish home further emphasize how pampered guests are.
Primrose Farm’s neat and mature one acre garden invites a wander among the shrubs and trees of this former farm house just two miles from the coast at Walcott and five miles from Happisburgh in Norfolk.
The barn and stable have been converted into two guest rooms, a double and a twin. Both rooms utilise the inter-connecting shower room and the sitting/dining room full of books with a TV. The crown being the external patio, solid wood chairs and table for jam and toast in the morning sun.

Norfolk's Children's Book Centre

Posted by elliepellie 15 November 2010

I have visited Cromer for many years with my family. However the weather isn’t always sunny, so on a rainy day we like to visit Norfolk’s Children’s Book Centre. It can be found in a small cottage tucked away in the middle of the countryside and you can only find it by a discreet sign by the roadside. However, you know when you have arrived because when the shop is full to the brim with an enormous variety of books. There are chairs to lounge in if you would like to have a read and if you are unable to choose the book that is right for you the lady who owns the shop, Marilyn Brocklehurst will kindly talk to you and show the books that fits your specifications. She is very knowledgeable because she has read almost every book in the shop! She is very passionate about children’s reading. I have never visited the shop without purchasing a book that I have found very exciting. Also she will bring you a drink and a biscuit if you would like, free of charge. Not only this, but it is a very friendly place to visit and you could stay there for hours. Also, many authors such as Michael Morpergo, Jacqueline Wilson, Andy McNabb, Anne Fine, Malorie Blackman and many more, have visited the bookshop. Visiting the Bookshop is one of my special highlights of my holiday! elliepellie (aged 13)

Crabbing off of Cromer Pier

Posted by caithan 21 June 2009

This is the best place we have found for crabbing. It's a secret what to use to attract the crabs (don't tell anyone, but we always used liver).

Sometimes you would get the crab to the top of the pier before it let go. Now it is my grandchildren's time for this treat they have a cheat; a net that lays underneath, so when the crabs let go they fall in the net.

In Carnival Week in August there is a Crab catching competition.

Cromer is a lovely little seaside town which has not been spoilt yet, lovely for children's summer holidays.

Cromer has a train station. You catch the train from Norwich.
