Dundee may not have the best weather all year round but it is one of the best places to go for a night out in Scotland.
Most of the main local attractions are around the city centre and the bars and nightclubs are also in this area. There is an excellent selection of bars to the west of the city on Perth Road.
The most popular nightclub is Fat Sams, about a five-minute walk from the high street, it opens till 2.30 and has a cheaper student night on a Wednesday.

Dundee is a great place for shopping, even on a rainy day! There is the Overgate and Wellgate shopping centres which are both indoor and offer plenty of shops.
In between them is the main high street which also has a wide selection of shops such as Dixons, HMV and Game.
The newly built city quay area down near the waterfront has a TK Maxx and a few good restaurants that are worth checking out.
If you decide to spend the night you will find plenty of B&Bs and guest houses, most are just off the city centre but are still well within walking distance.
Pub and guesthouse (hotel is a rather grand word for it) in Broughty Ferry, just outside Dundee.
Wonderful setting on the Tay - enjoy the spectacular sunsets from the end of the street or the pier. Real ale, rooms renovated in modern but cosy style. Good food. Excellent base for exploring Dundee and environs.
