    Rick's Boutique Hotel

Posted by DonAndSte 30 September 2011

Definitely one of the coolest hotels and bars in the world let alone Edinburgh. Small and intimate, stylish, and with a fantastic restaurant, this is a must for anyone visiting Edinburgh.

    The Rutland Hotel

Posted by ENTOURAGE 15 April 2010

A fantasic place to stay when visiting Edinburgh, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, great local knowledge. It has views of the castle and is right in the heart of the city. The room itself was awesome with great personlised touches, homemade muffins yum :) We also dined in the restaurant and we loved the food and service, we wouldn't normally dine where we stay, but was so glad we did and we even got a 10% discount which we thought was a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay, I'm sure you will too – it's a little gem.

    Missoni Hotel

    Posted by fa2008 19 March 2010

The Missoni is the newest five-star hotel in Edinburgh and after spending a weekend there I have to say it is one of the most impressive.

You get a fantastic location for touring Edinburgh, it's in the middle of the Royal Mile a few minutes from the castle and about a 15 min walk from Princes Street.

The hotel is unlike other five-star propertys in that you get a lot of things free. These include unlimited movies, free wireless internet and a free minibar.

The staff were great, room was comfortable and all in all a great place to stay in Edinburgh.

    Edinburgh hotels

Just fallen out of bed after a great weekend in Edinburgh. It has it all for a fab short break without the hassle of a flight. Try the Cafe Royal just off Princes Street - best oysters ever. We stayed at the Holyrood hotel which had a low weekend rate on Edinburgh hotels website.

Simply the quickest way to book a central hotel with pretty nifty map availability, I have not seen it on any other site.

    Borthwick Castle

Posted by loops 11 June 2008

Borthwick is a 15th century castle, 15 miles from Edinburgh Centre. We stayed there with our three children recently. The kids were totally in awe of the castle and the historic atmosphere that oozes from its pores!

To add to the experience we also dined at the castle, as a treat. The castle offers an option of children's menus, either a standard three-course menu, with kids' favorites (fish fingers, sausages etc), or a half adult portion, they really did offer an option to suit all.

The children were so well behaved, totally engrossed in the castle's history, and the memorabilia which is displayed in each of the rooms. Followed by historic tales and ghost stories by the castle staff, it set the kids up with tales and stories to keep them amused all the way home!

A good source of the top three-, four- and five-star hotels and apartments in Edinburgh and what to do in the city. You can also book online and find business meeting rooms based on numbers required.

    The Balmoral Hotel

    Posted by nab82ba 19 March 2008

It is the place to stay in Edinburgh, it looks absolutely stunning on the outside and from the polite doormen to the Michelin-starred restaurant this is the height of luxury. Well worth a look around, even for a coffee if you cant afford to splash out for a room!

    Osbourne Hotel

Posted by karenbryan 18 January 2008

Cheap especially for a single room. I paid £24 for a single ensuite room. Centrally located, 10 minutes walk from Waverley rail station and Princes St. Breakfast not great, but good if you want budget accommodation with your own bathroom at a cheap rate.

    The Witchery

A beautiful, gothic-style, top-class hotel which whisks you away to another world. It's luxurious, the staff are great and the Secret Garden restaurant serves fantastic food. You do have to book well in advance, but it's definitely worth it!

    The Witchery by the Castle

Posted by stuartm 27 July 2006

Fantasy-like love nest hotel snuggled into the castle. It's unbelievably camp and over the top with roll-top baths, bizarre mix of busts and antiques, four-poster beds, and it just feels so unique and so sexy. Daily bottle of champagne helps, and there's great food in the Secret Garden. Not cheap, but worth it for a night of unbridled passion.

    Le Monde hotel/bar

Posted by shaderarmour 26 July 2006

I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a really luxurious treat. It’s new and very opulent, and that bit different. It has eighteen rooms, all themed around a city (for instance: LA, Dublin, Marrakech, Beijing). We stayed last time in Atlantis, which was absolutely beautiful. Attention to detail is first class, staff are really friendly, and you get a welcome drink on arrival. Right in the centre of Edinburgh on the very stylish George Street, it also has three bars called Paris, Milan and Vienna and a nightclub called Tokyo in the basement. I particularly enjoyed the French martinis in Paris bar. Definitely wish to go back soon.

    Balmoral Hotel

    Posted by chris2005 22 July 2006

This luxury five-star hotel features a striking clock tower which defines Edinburgh's skyline. It can be seen from anywhere in the city.

If you're lucky enough to stay, the views from the top floors are amazing. You can see the Princes Street gardens and all of the Old Town.

The Balmoral Hotel lies at the eastern end of Princes Street just a 10 min walk from Waverley Street train station.
