Rural idyll
This small, cathedral city is a charming place to use as a base to visit Devon. Visit the gothic cathedral, set in the middle of an idyllic green surrounded by medieval houses. Down a hill from here is the quay on the river Exe, an ideal setting for a drink in one of the many riverside pubs and bars. Meanwhile, Dartmoor national park is only a short car or bus ride away.
